Miramar Labs® Names Brigid A. Makes Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
SUNNYVALE, CALIF. (December 30, 2011) – Miramar Labs, a leading dermatologic medical device company, announced today that it appointed Brigid A. Makes senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately.
“Brigid is an industry veteran with an outstanding reputation for growing organizations, attracting a talented workforce and developing targeted pipelines,” said Darrell J. Zoromski, president and chief executive officer of Miramar Labs. “Her deep understanding of the medical device industry and vast experience with both early stage start‐ups and large commercial companies will be critical as Miramar Labs continues to grow.”
With more than 30 years of experience in leading and building strong organizations, Ms. Makes has experience with initial public offerings (IPOs) and mergers and acquisitions (M&As) of high‐ growth medical and technology focused businesses. Prior to joining Miramar Labs, she successfully transitioned AGA Medical through its IPO process and acquisition by St. Jude Medical. Ms. Makes also served in executive roles in finance, operations and R&D at Nektar Therapeutics, and in senior financial roles in Haemonetics, Lotus Development and GE.
Ms. Makes has a master’s degree from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts and a bachelor’s degree in finance and international business from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec.
